I need to make a replacement top for my garden canopy (the metal kind). Has anyone done this successfully?

The stomach rumblings = 'roar from gas "has destroyed the fabric roof of my porch garden. Because the only place that sells is sold out until August, I'm meditative to mine (I know how to sew). Home Depot canvas tarps 18'X25 very important "that might work.
OK here goes, please say you always ..... cover basic you can trace the original pattern and try to recreate .. Do not neglect to add extra to the joints.
